Jonathan considers himself to be a financial architect by articulating the goals of a client, assessing their resources, and designing a plan to utilize these resources in the most efficient way to accomplish their goals. He enjoys managing the details of a plan to help clients pursue their ever-evolving financial goals.
With over 18 years of investment management and financial planning experience, Jonathan serves as the Chief Investment Officer of Sunburst Financial and is a partner of the firm. As CIO, Jonathan chairs the investment committee and contributes to the economic outlook, asset allocation, and investment selection for all clients of the company. He also played an integral part in drafting the firm's investment policy statement. Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business from Birmingham-Southern College and has earned designations from the CFP® Board, the American College, and The College of Financial Planning. He's been a featured speaker for the American Association of Individual Investors, the Birmingham Business Roundtable, the television show "Talk of Alabama," and a featured panelist at the Private Wealth Southeast Forum.
Jonathan and his wife Shelley have three children: Aiden, Miles, and Sienna. They are active members of Mountain Brook Community Church and are proud supporters of Restoration Academy, UAB Cancer Research, the Paulus Movement, Compassion International, and the Hope for Autumn Foundation.
